IBTCI is seeking a Somali-speaking Subject Matter Expert to participate in an evaluation of an economic growth program on behalf of USAID/Somalia. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in East Africa providing technical assistance to programs focusing on economic growth, including areas such as: micro-finance, employment generation, commercial credit, business association activities, pastoral livestock production and marketing, and natural resource management. Additionally, candidates should have expertise participating in Monitoring & Evaluation assignments in East Africa. This position will require short-term travel to Kenya, Somaliland and Puntland.
Responsibilities: The SME will assist the Team Leader in the design and implementation of the evaluation. He/she will be tasked with ensuring that deliverables are produced on time and are of high quality.
Desired qualifications: 10 years’ experience in economic growth programming and/or Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities Experience in East Africa is required Somali speaking skills are required Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is desirable Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) Advanced degree in relevant field
