Description of Duties
To provide a variety of secretarial/administrative work for the cluster function: Coordinating, monitoring and administrating the efficient daily running of the health cluster in Nairobi and the field.
Summary of assigned duties/ Terms of References: Under the direct supervision of the health cluster coordinator for Somalia in Mogadishu, the incumbent will:
- Ensure collecting data and regularly updating the health cluster 4 W matrix (Who is doing What, Where and When) Database and prepare feedback to health cluster partners and other clusters.
- Assess and monitor the availability of health services in the crisis areas using Health Resources Availability Mapping (HeRAMS) tool.
- Work closely with OCHA to establish the health cluster web-based database and data portal.
- Compile the Weekly cluster reports from partners; analyze and provide weekly and monthly summary and upload the summary on the cluster website.
- Assess and improve all data collection tools and work with other partners including OCHA to improve the tools and methods of data collection.
- Support the development of HC Monthly Bulletin and health services gap analysis based on information collected from regular partner feedback on the consolidated templates.
- Provide the information to the health cluster coordinator to inform health partners, UN agencies and donors. This includes preparing achievements reports to UN and donors as needed.
- Help in consolidating Nairobi and Mogadishu data and preparing the monthly SRF figures for OCHA.
- Develop a systematic approach to HC Contact List.
- Support the health cluster members and contribute to the overall analysis of the collected health data including gap analysis, priority setting and planning the response to address the un-covered major gaps.
- Co-manage the Cluster website and upload updated cluster information.
Qualifications:
- Essential: University degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or any related field.
- Desirable: Advanced training in statistics, training or knowledge of web-designing is an asset

- Knowledge of the UN and NGO humanitarian community
Experience:
Essential
- At least 3 years of relevant experience combined at national and international levels in data management and statistics for emergency programs.
- Experience in statistical analysis.
- Fluent English and Somali languages.
- Professional experience with computer software including MS Excel and SPSS or any other statistical software package.
Desirable
- Experience of WHO, UN organizations and/or NGOs.
- Experience in developing databases and managing online databases.
Languages:
Fluent in English and the local language for speaking, reading, writing, drafting and translating.
