1.0 Background
Since 2003 Somali Community Concern (SCC) has been operating in South/Central Somalia with life-saving and developmental programs and services reaching over 30,000 IDP Children, 140,000 IDP and 120,000 vulnerable elderly men and youths. Currently, SCC implements programs in Education, WASH and Protection (Gender-based Violence) prevention and response.

2.0 SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and coordinating all WASH technical activities in the program including rehabilitation and upgrading Shallow wells, install solar powered pump, water supply systems, construction of dump site for liquid facility and construction of communal latrines.
- Ensure quality standards of the outputs particularly in construction/rehabilitation and upgrading Shallow wells, install solar powered pump, water supply systems, construction of dump site for liquid facility and construction of communal latrines.
- Report technically on the construction milestones to SCC in every month.
3.0 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Ensure quality implementation of activities through close supervision and monitoring rehabilitation and upgrading 10 Shallow wells, 2 installations of 2 solar powered pumps to wells, water supply systems, 1 construction of dump site for liquid facility, construction of 5 blocks of communal latrines and construction of 10 twin latrines in 10 institutions.
- · Conduct/contribute in technical assessments and prepare the relevant reports.
- Conducts needs assessment and identify needs for improvement of the ongoing WASH projects. · Undertake borehole water quality analysis using potable water quality kit, for new and rehabilitated borehole water source using water quality technical guidelines.
- Supervise and manage construction/rehabilitation activities and technical aspect for project implementation, make sure that contractors complete project work in a timely, efficient and accurate manner with respect to standard engineering
- Contribute to the development of constructive solutions to challenges identified by the community and contractors.
4.0 KeyDeliverables
- Rehabilitation and upgrading 10 Shallow wells,
- Installations of 2 solar powered pumps to wells,
- Extension of water supply systems to 5 institutions,
- Construction of 1 dump site for liquid facility,
- Construction of 5 blocks of communal latrines
- Construction of 10 twin latrines in 10 institutions.
- Technical reports submitted to SCC.
5.0 REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- A Degree in Water Engineering, civil engineering or other related discipline;
- At least 3-5 years of experience in similar position/related
- Professional experience in community WASH programs
- Excellent program implementation skills,
- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English
