OVERVIEW OF CTG GLOBAL

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Under the supervision of Chief Aviation Projects planning and Budget Officer, the Budget assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

· Prepare the Aviation Section Annual Financial data source; Costing sheet 15 Management

· Monitor and track air support expenditures; Monitor and raise invoices for recoverable expenses

· Facilitate the development and Financing of the following Aviation Issues: Air Asset acquisition and financing on ad hoc standby air assets.

· Air Asset planning financing fixed wing and rotor air assets on Long Term Contracts.

· Track regional intermission shared asset and standby arrangement IOR services and payments. Annual Section budget report. Close monthly section accounts and prepare all financial statements for submission.

· Analyze invoices and entitlement matters, Monitor, track and verify aircraft fuel consumption

· Verify and process invoices for air support services and make recommendations to the Chief of Unit/Section on appropriate follow-up procedures. Review and reconcile various clearing accounts and investigate erroneous/invalid entries to take appropriate corrective accounting action. Review/reconcile suspense account and ensure proper clearance procedures have been followed. Enter the obligations to be raised and approved in the UMOJA.

· Coordinate with the respective Aviation service providers to settle debit advices received or to send debit advices, ensuring payments are made and accounts effectively reconciled.

· Budget Assist in preparation of budget performance submissions and finalization of budget performance reports, analysing variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures.

· Verify accuracy of input data, ensuring consistency of data in previous allotments to new allotments issued. Provide inputs into the preparation of allotments and prepare redeployment requests.

· Draft or prepare correspondence to respond to enquiries in respect to financial and budget matters. Provide guidance and UMOJA training (staff with respect to transaction processing and the use of various systems Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Education

High school or equivalent diploma is required. Technical or vocational certificate in accounting, finance, budget or related fields is a requirement.

Work Experience

At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience within the United Nations system or in the private sector at the national or international level in accounting, budgeting or financial management. Experience in a UN Aviation related budget and Financing is highly desirable.

Languages Fluency in spoken and written English and/or French is required. Knowledge of a second UN language is an advantage and sometimes a requirement. Fluency in the local language may be essential.
