The successful candidate will be offered a Fixed Term Appointment for 1 year. Further extensions will be based on organization needs, funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Purpose of the Post:
Under the supervision of the WASH Specialist (Sanitation & Hygiene), contribute to programme planning, administration, implementation and evaluation of the WES project activities, data analysis and progress reporting relevant to EnvironmentalSanitation in South Central Zone (CSZ).
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Undertake field visits to UNICEF project sites for the purpose of orientation to project activities and local conditions. Prepare routine reports on results of visits and project progress.
- Collect and assemble data and background information with regard to programmes/ projects and provide updated information of programmes/ project financial and administrative status for analysis and report purposes. Analyze programme/ project and recommend appropriate adjustments. Prepare tables, graphs or other statistical data for technical review/ monitoring purposes.
- Provide technical assistance in planning and implementation of the hygiene and sanitation and WASH in schools component of the WASH programme.
- Monitor the flow of supply and non-supply assistance to local authorities. Draft supply and financial reports and other necessary monitoring documentation. Collect and record information on supply/ non-supply inventory, distribution and utilization. Assist in developing of appropriate messages and hygiene promotional materials to promote key aspects of hygiene behavior in consultation with implementing partners, relevant government ministries and local authority.
- Investigate queries regarding authorization, delivery or payments and follow up with finance, administrative, supply and programme staff on processing of payments, advances to governments and liquidation of accounts. Ensure that activities are in accordance with work plan of action.
- Communicate with counterpart local authorities on project details. Recommend courses of action particularly on Sanitation & Hygiene and WASH in Schools.
- Arrangements for visits to project sites for government and other partners, which include providing information and briefing on project activities and status, in particular orientation and briefing on sanitation projects.
- Draft programme budgets ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of coding in accordance with PIDB system. Draft and issue updated status reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of relevant sanitation and hygiene monthly and donor progress reports, proposals, surveys, briefing documents for management and annual reports etc. as necessary and other reports as required by HQ.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
· University degree in public health, social sciences, environmental health/ science, water resources, civil engineering or other area closely related to sanitation and hygiene.
· Three (3) year progressively responsible experience at professional level in programme design, administration, monitoring and evaluation in related field.
· Fluency in English and Somali.
· Knowledge of local working language of the duty station an asset.
· Communication, analytical and training skills.
· Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
· Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
