Role Purpose: The primary purpose of the Project Assistant is to directly work with communities to implement FSL interventions in Somaliland. Most likely the post holder will be based in either Burao, Hargeisa or Burao. The initial focus will be cash support project under with some recovery and resilience building activities. The Project Assistant will assist the officer to carry out implementation of FSL activities in drought affected areas, community level mobilization activities, implementing beneficiary targeting protocols, training beneficiaries, supervising distributions and conducting monitoring activities. Contract Duration: TBC

Location: Burao, Borama and/or Hargeisa

Qualifications and Experience

· Degree or Diploma in social science, agriculture or related field with 2 years of relevant field experiences with NGOs.

· Experience of working with communities at grass-root level

· Proficiency in English with good quality report writing as well as the national language

· Computer skills, with focus on word processing and excel

· Strong morals viz. honesty, open and transparency, generosity, altruism and respect

· Experience in working in harsh environment is an added advantage

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in diverse teams
