Organization: UN Children's Fund
Country: Somalia
Closing date: 18 Jan 2017

Background and context

As part of the Somali National Malaria Strategic Plan for 2011-2015, behaviour change communication is key to ensure population behaviour change to enable malaria prevention and health seeking behaviour. This includes seeking behaviour change to enable LLIN use, destruction of mosquito breeding sites, and health care seeking behaviour in case malaria is suspected. The malaria program currently delivers behaviour change communication interventions through local NGOs, Ministries of Health and will commence through radio in TV in early 2017. The IEC materials used were recently reviewed and updated, and have been translated into Somali dialects for the various regions/areas in Somaliland/Somalia.
