Request for Training of Off-Grid Pico Solar Dealer and Independent Power Producers on Proposal Writing

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Somalia is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and operating in Somalia. ADRA is seeking the services of a professionally qualified consultant to carry out a training on Off-Grid Solar Dealer and Independent power producers on proposal writing.

Objectives of the Consultancy

The main objective of the consultancy is to enable off-grid solar dealer to apply for grants. It is envisaged that the trainees will put forward quality proposal to SET project for consideration and funding after the end of the training.

The training consultancy will contribute to the empowerment of the off-grid PICO solar dealer in proposal writing, budget preparation, log-frame development and report writing.

Specific Tasks

Consultant's tasks are:

  • To develop and deliver a two-day Training of a group of off-grid PICO solar dealers and Independent Power Producers,
  • To developed training program,
  • To provide trainings on the following and not limited to: Logical framework, Budget preparation, Report writing, and Project Monitoring,
  • To produce presentations on relevant proposal writing topics, and
  • To inform the off-grid PICO solar dealer and Independent Power Producers on the project expectation and selection criterion.

Consultant qualifications and professional experience

  1. Possess an advanced University Degree or equivalent in the fields of development economy, social sciences, Business Administration/Management, Marketing, or any other related field.
  2. Possible areas of expertise may also include market study studies, business advisory services, capacity building, and social entrepreneurship.
  3. Previous working experience in providing training in business plans, proposal writing, budgeting in East and Horn of Africa is a plus.
  4. Experience in working in countries in Post Conflict Transitions/Reconstruction will be an added advantage.
  5. At least 5 years experiences in providing training in social marketing assessment, small business development, business plans, and livelihood improvement for the poor
  6. Must have excellent report writing skills.
